Product Overview
NeoPhotonics’ HB-CDM (High Bandwidth – Coherent Driver Modulator) is implemented in a small form factor (4.8 x 24.8 x 12 mm) package which co-packages a quad-channel, differential 96 GBaud driver with an Indium Phosphide-based Mach-Zehnder (MZ) quadrature modulator chip. This new modulator is designed for applications in pluggable coherent modules as well as on transport linecards. NeoPhotonics CDM has a bandwidth over 55 GHz. By integrating the drivers inside the modulator package directly adjacent to the low power InP modulator chip, the total power requirement is 4.7 Watts (typical). The CDM is designed to be used in 600/800 Gbps coherent transceiver modules and in linecard applications which leverage its small size, high bandwidth and low power dissipation. The CDM will support up to 96 GBaud data rates and up to 64QAM modulation format.
